This has been a crazy summer! I have been knee-deep in baking orders for all kinds of occasions–bachelorette parties, birthdays, baby and bridal showers, anniversaries, and “just for fun” celebrations. The experience has been unbelievable, as I’ve baked over 1220 sugar cookies and 330 cupcakes within the past three months. These photos just brush the surface of the treats I’ve been cooking up around here!
I hope you’re all enjoying your summer! I’m going to do my best with keeping things updated around here. In the meantime, be sure to check out my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/albertapearl
I saw the recipe for this chocolate-chip cookie cake and couldn’t resist. An entire batter of chocolate chip cookie dough is baked in a spring-form pan, covered in peanut butter buttercream, marshmallow fluff, marshmallows, peanut butter cups, chocolate and peanut butter chips, and caramel sauce. Could it be any sweeter?
The recipe for this cake can be found on Sprinkle Bakes blog!
I have been doing lots of recipe testing around here lately. I’m finally getting things in order to start up my business. It’s scary. It’s exciting. It’s busy. And it’s certainly tasty (sometimes overwhelmingly tasty–there’s only so many treats you can eat before you feel utterly ill). But through it all, I’m just trusting that what is meant to happen will happen.
The snickerdoodles are helping with that.
Angels and snowflakes and trees, oh my! This joyous day is finally upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with friends and family and a big plate of cookies? My kitchen has resembled what I imagine Mrs. Clause’s kitchen to be these past few days as I’ve finished up some last minute baking orders for the holiday season. But beyond the hustle and bustle of the holiday season (and last minute cookie scramble), this time of year is the perfect time to reflect on the peace in our lives and the people who bless us with love and care. I hope you all have some special people to celebrate this special day with. After all, that’s what Christmas is all about.
Well, that and sweets of course.
Christmas is just around the corner and I can’t wait to start filling my kitchen with the delicious smells of gingerbread, peppermint, and chocolate. But before I do that, I had a few cookie orders to complete. These cookies were made for my friend Ellen who just completed a yoga course. Congratulations, Ellen!
